How to Install Your Silk Cot Sleeve Safely

Thank you for choosing our silk cot sleeve. A properly installed cot sleeve isn’t just about comfort — it’s an important part of safe sleep. When fitted correctly, the sleeve stays firmly in place, prevents shifting, and ensures your baby sleeps on a smooth, secure surface.

Because every baby moves differently, it’s essential to follow the installation steps carefully to make sure the sleeve sits tight, flat, and cannot be pulled or lifted during sleep.

Taking a moment to set it up correctly gives you peace of mind, knowing your little one is resting safely.

1. Place the mattress upright.

This position gives you full access to both the front silk panel and the back mesh layer, making the installation process much easier and more controlled.

2. Stretch the Silk Panel Firmly Across the Width

Pull the silk cot sleeve over the mattress from the top, sliding it downward until it sits horizontally across the centre of the mattress or where your baby’s head typically rests. Pull the silk section tightly from left to right. Smooth out any wrinkles. Make sure there is no slack, bunching, or looseness. The silk should look smooth and snug, just like a well-fitted sheet.

3. Secure the Mesh Backing (Velcro System) & Test the Tension

Turn the mattress slightly so you can reach the back.

To secure the velcro system properly:

1. Pull the mesh layer tightly across the back.
2. Bring the Velcro ends together.
3. Press firmly to close the Velcro, ensuring a strong hold.

The tensioned mesh + Velcro fastening system is what locks the sleeve in place and prevents it from shifting.

1. Try sliding your hand under the silk panel — it should feel very tight, with no lifting.
2. Tug the sleeve with both hands — it should remain secure and unmoving.
3. If it loosens or lifts, tighten the mesh and re-secure the Velcro.

This confirms the sleeve is installed correctly.

4. Monitor for the First 1–2 Days

As with any new sleep accessory, we recommend parents monitor their baby closely during the first 1–2 days of use.

This ensures your little one adjusts well and helps you confirm the system remains securely fastened with normal movement.
