Do I Need a Mesh Wash Bag for Silk?

Yes. If you machine wash silk, a fine-mesh wash bag is highly recommended. It keeps your silk from tearing and snagging, which matters most if your washing machine has a centre agitator that can catch and pull delicate fabric.

Pop the pillowcase or scarf into the bag, zip it, and wash cold on a gentle cycle. It is the cheapest insurance there is for silk — a few dollars against a torn seam.
